Daisy and Jimmy

Daisy and Jimmy, brother and sister, have never been separated a day in their lives. Both were used as pack animals on the Pacific Crest Trail for four months: a total of 800 miles. Daisy went lame after two weeks, and continued to struggle. Dreamchaser received a call in early August and drove to South Lake Tahoe to bring a very sick Daisy back to the ranch. Of course we took Jimmy too.

 

Daisy has fought so hard to conquer the laminitis and founder issues caused by that trip. She requires special medication but has a love for life, and she and Jimmy are always side by side. It was Jimmy’s love that kept her alive.
